Heavy Metal Cover Of Beethoven's 'Moonlight Sonata' Will Knock Your Socks Off

You’ve never heard Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata” played like this.

In the video above, watch as electric guitarist Michele “Dr.Viossy” Vioni shreds the third movement of the Beethoven classic.

It’s loud, it’s fast and it’s utterly masterful.

“Beethoven would be impressed,” exclaimed one YouTuber after watching Vioni in action.

“Bravo, Maestro!” wrote another.

Though the video, which has racked up more than 4.2 million views since it was uploaded in August 2011, is not new, it’s experienced a viral resurgence this week after being rediscovered by heavy metal website Metal Injection. “Pretty damn metal,” the site said in praise of the clip.
