Newspaper Runs Image Of 'Jackass' Star Instead Of Killed Israeli Soldier

A New Zealand newspaper had to get itself out of hot water on Sunday after it published a picture of the late "Jackass" star Ryan Dunn alongside a story of an Israeli soldier killed in Gaza.

The story on the New Zealand Herald's front page was in honor of Guy Boyland, the 27-year-old combat engineer who died in Gaza last Friday. But next to the story, where a picture of Boyland should have been, was an image of the MTV celebrity who died in a car crash in 2011.

The newspaper later apologized to Boyland's family for the error:

In a separate statement, the paper said it apologized "unreservedly" for using the incorrect image in both print and online. Editor Shayne Currie added that the family was "remarkably forgiving" in response:
