Tigers Outfielder Impressed Derek Jeter With Unbelievable Diving Catch (VIDEO)

WATCH: Unbelievable Catch Left Derek Jeter Amazed

Making his first career start for the Detroit Tigers on Monday night, outfielder Ezequiel Carrera made one of the best catches of the year that likely saved a run or two and definitely impressed Yankees captain Derek Jeter.

The bases were loaded with no outs in the third inning when Yankees star Jacoby Ellsbury drove a pitch to deep center field. It looked like Ellsbury was going to at least end up with a bases-clearing double. But Carrera raced back toward the wall, leaped into the air and made a full-extension grab before landing on the warning track. Ichiro Suzuki tagged up from third to score New York's first run of the game, but the catch prevented the other two base runners from scoring (another run would score later in the inning and the Yankees won 2-1).

Television cameras showed a stunned Jeter after the play standing at first base and reacting how most fans probably reacted, by saying "wow."
