Tyra Banks Opens Up On Yaya DaCosta's Lead Role In Whitney Houston Biopic (VIDEO)

Here's What Tyra Thinks About Former 'ANTM' Contestant's Whitney Houston Role

As production for Lifetime’s forthcoming Whitney Houston biopic “I Will Always Love You: The Whitney Houston Story” continues, the film’s lead star Yaya DaCosta has received support from Houston fans.

Most recently, the 31-year-old actress, who made her small-screen debut on "America's Next Top Model" Cycle three, received public encouragement from her former mentor Tyra Banks.

Earlier this week during an episode of “Watch What Happens Live!”, the multi-faceted media mogul professed her excitement over DaCosta’s latest role.

“She is killing it! She has been in academy-nominated movies, she has been in scenes with Oprah in ‘The Butler,’ and now she was chosen to play Whitney Houston in a biopic. So this is insane and huge for me,” Banks said to host Andy Cohen. “Yaya, I am super proud of you. You won the acting challenge on ‘America’s Next Top Model’ back in the day so we knew that there was something special.”
