Fashion Designer Mathieu Mirano Dishes On Dressing Lady Gaga In A Paper Dress

It might seem tame by Lady Gaga standards, but the choice for the songstress to don a dress comprised entirely of paper for an interview on "Good Morning America" was a carefully-planned sartorial event.

Mathieu Mirano, the designer behind the delicate frock, spoke with HuffPost Live on Tuesday about designing for pop music's most outrageous dresser as she re-entered the media spotlight with her 2013 album "Artpop."

"Gaga is actually quite specific about what she's wearing," he told host Caitlyn Becker. "She has quite expensive taste and is very detail-oriented, so we always want to make sure we are bringing our best to the table."

For her "Good Morning America" interview, this required sending over 30 sketches for her to review. This dress was of particular importance to the singer, as it was her "first major interview in years," Mirano said.

"We were working for months and months ahead of time to get that 'Good Morning America' paper dress under control and to make sure it was going to be perfect for that interview," he recalled.

And while Mirano insists he makes "zero" money dressing celebrities, he noted that working with Gaga is one of his greatest achievements.

"It was the biggest moment of my young career," he said. "And now that we're moving forward onto even greater things, it's really important to realize the significance of that moment and how long we really worked for it."
