Christian Mingle, JDate Up For 'Hottest Way To Hook Up' On Adweek Survey

Adweek posted its "Hot List Readers' Choice Awards" survey on Monday, inviting readers to vote on some of their favorite brands, app and more. Among the categories was one for "Hottest Ways to Hook Up" with the unexpected contenders: Christian Mingle and JDate.

The religious dating sites pride themselves on being a place for same-faith singles to meet and form relationships. Christian Mingle calls itself "an ideal destination for Christian men and women to find friends, dates, and even soul mates, all within the faith," while JDate emphasizes its mission to "strengthen the Jewish community and ensure that Jewish traditions are sustained for generations to come."

The sites are up against 11 others, including Tinder, OK Cupid and Grindr.

Although hook up culture typically is not promoted in religious communities, are religious singles using these sites for more (or perhaps less) than finding a spouse?

One Twitter user may have put it most succinctly: "If you need to hook up with Local Singles, ChristianMingle.com is there to the rescue."
