ANOTHER Slender Man Attack? Teen Allegedly Burns House Down With Family Inside

Teen Allegedly Tries To Kill Her Family In Another Possible Slender Man Attack

A 7th-grade girl is accused of burning her house down with her mother and young brother inside because she was upset about being disciplined at bed time.

WTSP reports that Pasco County, Florida deputies arrested the 14-year-old girl and charged her with arson and two counts of attempted murder for allegedly trying to kill her mother and 9-year-old brother on Thursday morning.

The fire department was called to investigate the blaze and the girl's mother said she couldn't find her daughter. Firefighters made repeated attempts to locate her in the home but found it empty.

The girl, who has not been named because she is a minor, was later found nearby and arrested.

She also allegedly sent her mom a text message apologizing for the fire.

According to the Tampa Bay Times authorities said the girl visited the sites creepypasta.com and souleater.com, which are both frequented by fans of Slender Man.

In June, authorities arrested two 12-year-old Wisconsin girls who allegedly stabbed another 12-year-old nearly to death in order to please Slender Man, a fictional character popularized by online horror stories.

One of the girls allegedly told police she and her friend were trying to become "proxies" for Slender Man.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that Detective Daniel Toner wouldn't classify the crime as definitively a Slender Man inspired attack, but he did say the teen was influenced by blogs and videos on the sites.
