Here are the latest animals up for adoption through the Animal Care & Control of New York City.
A nonprofit organization, AC&C gives shelter to more than 30,000 dogs, cats, rabbits and other animals each year.
Interested in a new pet? AC&C has adoption centers in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Staten Island, all open daily from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
All AC&C adoptions include vaccinations, a microchip, spay/neuter, one month of free pet health insurance and a free office visit at a participating veterinarian.

This sociable girl, about six years old, was surrendered by her previous owner, who says she gets along with children and strangers, and used to live with other dogs. Meet Tysina at AC&C’s Brooklyn Care Center, 2336 Linden Boulevard.
Nugget (A1012735)
Nugget is a sweet, high-energy dog looking for a new home! He’s about two years and 15 pounds, and up for adoption at Animal Care & Control of NYC’s Manhattan Care Center, 326 E. 110th Street.
Rocky (A1013025)
This playful pup—he’s only about nine months old—is such a cutie! Rocky’s previous owner said he got along well with the household’s children, other dogs and small animals, and is very active. Fall in love with Rocky at Animal Care & Control of NYC’s Manhattan Care Center, 326 E. 110th Street.
Barney (A0986024)
This adorable, friendly orange tabby was surrendered by his previous owner because she was moving. Word is he’ll follow you around the house to play, and he gets along well with other cats. Meet Barney, whose only about one year and ten months old, at Animal Care & Control of NYC’s Brooklyn Care Center, 2336 Linden Boulevard.
Shadow (A1012889)
This beautiful girl appreciates being pet, purring her approval. Shadow’s previous owner describes her as friendly, affectionate, and independent. Meet this approximately six-year-old sweetie at Animal Care & Control of NYC’s Manhattan Care Center, 326 E. 110th Street.
Ripple (A1013035)
Ripple is a handsome, head-butting, happy cat who’s about 16 months old. Meet this friendly feline at Animal Care & Control of NYC’s Manhattan Care Center, 326 E. 110th Street, or—if he’s not adopted by then--AC&C’s Mobile Adoption Center outside Petco Union Square (860 Broadway) on Saturday, September 13 (12-4pm).
Burrito (A1010147)
Burrito’s previous owner notes he may be shy at first, but warms up to new people after a while, and was affectionate with her. Word is he loves to sniff people, especially their feet and noses, and he also likes cat toys! Meet Burrito at Animal Care & Control of NYC’s Manhattan Care Center, 326 E. 110th Street.
