In An Emotional Performance, Girl With Heart Disease Thanks Hospital For Saving Her Life

Grace Lee is only 9 years old, but she has already undergone several operations, including multiple open heart surgeries, at Liverpool's Alder Hey Children's Hospital.

To thank the hospital's dedicated staff of doctors and nurses, she sang a positively angelic rendition of "Lean On Me" at a recent fundraising event, The Liverpool Echo reports.

Grace was born with complex congenital heart disease and lung disease, her mom Kara Lee explains in a caption for a video of the performance that she uploaded to YouTube. Grace stunned the hundreds of onlookers gathered at Liverpool city centre with her beautiful performance, backed by a choir of around 800 Alder Hey and Shop Direct employees.

Her proud mama writes in the caption, "Here she is doing what she loves most - singing. Grace performed this song only days after hearing it for the first time!"

The 9-year-old from Isle of Man was happy to lend her gorgeous voice to give back to the hospital, telling The Liverpool Echo, "I loved singing the song."

Her mom told 3FM Isle of Man radio station, "We basically, literally owe Grace's life to Alder Hey." Kara Lee also noted that "it's been a very difficult ride," adding that no matter how hard things get, her daughter "doesn't stop singing."

Way to go, Grace!
