A View To A Kill: Leopard Leaps From Tree To Attack Impala

This prey didn't have a prayer.

Watch above as a leopard in a tree pounces on an impala in Botswana.

In a Sept. 19 blog post at Africa Geographic, Yasmin Tajik explained that the female leopard waited patiently above a group of grazing impala as the animals drifted toward the tree. "We knew we were about to witness a once in a lifetime event," Tajik wrote.

While the video might be disturbing to some, it offers a fascinating look at a predator in action. Mindful that lions and hyenas might try to steal their meal, leopards like to carry their kill into the trees, according to Out To Africa. But the one above has a struggle.
