Nobody saw this coming.
Referee Salome Di Iorio was working a recent match in Argentina between Centro Espanol and Liniers when a booted ball slammed into her face. She fell to the turf and players immediately ran to her aid, the video above shows.
According to reports, she was assisted off the field and taken to a hospital as a precaution.
Di Iorio, 34, from Argentina, officiated soccer at the 2012 Olympics in London, according to a FIFA posting.
