Teacher Learns Sarcasm Doesn't Work In Texts, Or Bomb Threats

A teacher at a New York City charter school may face a reprimand over his terrible texting skills.

The teacher, who has been identified only as "Eric," reportedly texted his wife to "call in a bomb threat" while he was bored at a meeting last week. Unfortunately, his wife acted on those instructions before she saw that he'd followed the fateful text with, "ha ha."

“It was meant to be a joke. It was misconstrued, and, boy, oh, boy, before we knew it, there were cops here,” Stephen Falla Riff, the school’s executive director, told the New York Post.

His wife had tried to ward off the cops after making her call, but to no avail. Eight NYPD units responded to Renaissance Charter HS for Innovation in East Harlem and questioned Eric about the alleged bomb threat.

No arrests were made.
