The Kansas City Royals are making up for lost time, in a hurry.
After missing the MLB postseason for nearly 30 years, the Royals are just one win from the 2014 World Series. The team has reeled off seven straight wins to open its first playoff campaign since 1985, a record-tying streak that matches those previously achieved by the 1976 Cincinnati Reds and 2007 Colorado Rockies.
After defeating the Oakland Athletics in extra innings in the American League Wild Card Game, the Royals swept the Los Angeles Angels in their AL Division Series and have won the first three games off the Baltimore Orioles in the best-of-seven AL Championship Series. The Royals have a chance to clinch the American League pennant on Wednesday.
