Why You Should Tell Your Elderly Parents They're Fabulous

The risks and benefits of alcohol seem to see-saw back-and-forth in the health literature. We know that too much alcohol harms the heart, brain and eventually more. Moderate drinking is the key: no more than two drinks for men, one for women, each day. For the plus side, new research finds that for people 60 and older who do not have dementia, light alcohol consumption during late life is associated with higher episodic memory—the ability to recall memories of events.
