Amanda Bynes' Parents Granted Conservatorship As Psychiatric Hold Is Extended (UPDATE)

Amanda Bynes' parents have reportedly obtained a conservatorship for their daughter, who remains on psychiatric hold.

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Bynes' parents cited her second DUI arrest and other erratic behavior as reason for filing for the conservatorship, which was granted by a California judge.

News of the conservatorship comes after a judge granted Bynes' doctors' request for a 30-day extension of her involuntary commitment at a Pasadena psychiatric facility on Monday. The 28-year-old actress was placed on psychiatric hold on Oct. 10, following her accusations of sexual abuse against her father, which she later recanted.

The Huffington Post has reached out to Amanda Bynes' representatives for a comment. This post will be updated if and when they respond.

UPDATE: TMZ reports that Amanda Bynes was released on Thursday from the psychiatric facility where she had been receiving treatment.

Sources told the website that the actress' hearing officer released her from the facility believing she was stable enough to not be held involuntarily, and ended the 30-day hold that had been granted last week.

Upon her release from the facility, Bynes took to Twitter and said she will be going to court to fight her parents for control of her personal life and finances.
