'House Of Cards' Actress Elizabeth Norment Dead At 61

Elizabeth Norment, who played Frank Underwood's secretary, Nancy Kaufberger, on Netflix's "House of Cards," has died at age 61.

The actress died on Oct. 13 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Her agent, Dianne Busch, confirmed Norment's death to NBC News, but no further details were available at the time.

"Everyone at 'House of Cards' is deeply saddened by Elizabeth’s passing," showrunner Beau Willimon said in a statement. "She was a talented actress, a warm soul and a good friend to us all." Norment's "House of Cards" co-star, Kevin Spacey, tweeted about the actress on Tuesday evening.

Norment was also known as Judge Arlene Brewer on "Law & Order," and had various supporting roles in "ER," "Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion" and "Doogie Howser, M.D." The actress was also very involved in the Southern California theater community, according to Vulture.
