John Conyers Wins Midterm Election Race In Michigan

John Conyers Wins Reelection

Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) defeated Republican Jeff Gorman in the midterm race to represent Michigan's 13th District Tuesday.

Conyers' campaign was rocked earlier this year when Michigan election officials found problems with the nominating petitions needed to get him on the ballot. Elections officials removed him from the ballot, but a federal judge put him back on in late May.

Conyers has served in Congress since 1965 and is the ranking member on the judiciary committee.
