Rep. Mike Quigley (D-Ill.) was re-elected to represent Illinois' 5th congressional district on Tuesday.
Quigley, who ran unopposed in the general election, defeated Republican Vince Kolber and Green Party candidate Nancy Wade.
In October, Quigley told the Chicago Sun-Timesearlier this year that he would like to move up in "prominence" and "seniority" on the House Appropriations Committee.
