When Disney and Lucasfilm released the first cast photo of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," much was made about its lack of diversity and overabundance of white males. But as has become clear in the ensuing seven months, J.J. Abrams' "Episode VII" won't necessarily focus on white men: John Boyega, Daisy Ridley and Oscar Isaac play lead roles in the new film. The three franchise newcomers took center stage in the "Force Awakens" trailer, with Boyega's face being the first shown onscreen. The 22-year-old actor appears in a state of duress and dressed as a Stormtrooper, teasing any number of excellent storytelling opportunities. Exciting! Except to some "Star Wars" fans, who found the notion of a black actor playing a Stormtrooper offensive. Boyega took a subtle dig at those trolls with a post to his Instagram over the weekend: "To whom it may concern ... Get used to it. :)"

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is out on Dec. 18, 2015. Watch the full trailer again here.
