Husband Of Missing New Jersey Woman Charged With Murder

The husband of a New Jersey woman missing since New Year's Eve has been charged with her murder.

Kyle J. Crosby, 28, was taken into police custody early Tuesday morning in connection with the death of his wife, 26-year-old Erica Crippen, the South Jersey Times reports.

Crippen, a mother of two, was last seen near her home in Mount Laurel, according to Philly.com.

Authorities brought in Crosby for questioning after a traffic stop and foot chase Monday evening.

Police say he was driving his missing wife's Ford Taurus, and that upon a search of the vehicle they found several items in the trunk that they believe are connected to Crippen's disappearance.

This was the first time that authorities encountered Crosby since interviewing him shortly after his wife disappeared, NBC Philadelphia reports. The suspect became unreachable and stopped showing up for work.

Crosby is being held at the Burlington County Jail where his bail is set at $1 million.

Authorities are still searching for Crippen's body.
