Woman Accused Of Trying To Give Away Child At Department Store

An Alabama woman is facing charges of child endangerment after trying to give away a child -- that was not her own -- at her local department store.

Sebrina Ann Thompson was arrested Saturday night after witnesses reported her allegedly attempting to hand off a kid to passers-by outside of a Walmart in Athens, Alabama, WAFF.com reports.

The child was not her own, but was a relative.

Officers on the scene said Thompson was allegedly intoxicated, according to the New York Daily News.

Police arrested Thompson and charged her with child endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia, PIX11.com reports.

She is currently being held at the Limestone County Jail.

The child, whose name and age have not been released, is back in the custody of its parents, WSFA.com reports.
