Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) on Thursday mocked former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush for meeting privately in Utah as both men consider bids for the White House in 2016.
The Kentucky Republican, who is himself likely to run for president as "Troll-In-Chief," posted on Twitter that his potential rivals engaged in a "gift exchange."
Kristy Campbell, a spokeswoman for Bush, fired back by noting that Paul's social media team committed a spelling error.
"You misspelled friendship. Maybe there is something to be said for higher standards?" she said, referencing Bush's support for the Common Core national education standards.
