Jonathan Chait Responds To Gawker's Spa Offer: 'I'm A Chill Guy'

Jonathan Chait Responds To Gawker's Spa Offer

Jonathan Chait became enemy No. 1 of many on the internet Tuesday after New York magazine published his political-correctness opus, titled "Not A Very P.C. Thing To Say," in which he decries the hyper-sensitive atmosphere that has taken root across the web. Arguably the most vocal critic was Gawker; in an effort to help Chait "chill out," the site bought the writer a gift certificate for a spa day.

In a HuffPost Live interview Wednesday, Chait laughed off the offer, saying he actually relishes the critiques he's read.

"I'm a chill guy," Chait told host Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani. "I'm pretty relaxed. Maybe I'll try to chill out a little more. But I'm not too worked up anyway."

Chait went on to outline why he doesn't consider his piece trolling, but merely persuasive. You can watch the rest of the exchange above.
