When YouTuber Yousef Erakat heard one of his fans had to miss out on meeting him because of a chemo treatment, he decided to bring the meet and greet to him.
Known as fouseyTUBE on his channel, Yousef showed up at high school senior Mahmoud Badran’s house after meeting his sister at his comedy show who explained why her brother was forced to stay home.
Mahmoud, who was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma cancer four months ago, has watched Yousef's videos for years and aspires to be a YouTuber himself. When Yousef asked why he hadn’t started a channel, he explained he didn’t have the proper equipment.
This inspired Yousef to start an Indiegogo fundraising page. His goal is to raise $3,000 for video equipment for Mahmoud and $7,000 for his college fund. If his viewers reach the $10,000 goal, Yousef will match it and donate it to the American Cancer Society.
He also started a YouTube channel for Mahmoud and encouraged his 4.8 million subscribers to subscribe to it. Mahmoud has already posted his first video thanking Yousef and calling the whole experience "the happiest moment" he's had since being diagnosed.
