Corpse Found In Lake Likely Missing Woman, Police Say

Following an "exhaustive search," police in Florida believe they have found the body of a woman who went missing earlier this month.

A vehicle that belonged to Apryl Foster, 33, was pulled out of Mango Lake in Tampa on Sunday, the Orlando Sentinel reports. With it, authorities found a corpse with clothes matching those worn by the missing woman on the night she vanished.

"This is a tragic end to a very sad story," said Tampa Police Deputy Chief Brian Dugan, according to MyFoxTampa. "If anything, it at least gives us answers now."

The Tampa Police released information about the discovery on Twitter:

Police found the vehicle after surveillance tape from a nearby residence revealed footage of the car driving down a boat ramp and into the water, police said.

Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Foster's mother said she was thankful to at least have some closure.

"I just can not imagine not having closure," said Peggy Beman, according to Bay9News. "It is something that God has blessed us with today that we have closure."
