Derrick Rose Releases Powerful Commercial Just Days After News Of Latest Injury

The timing is perfect.

Just days after the Chicago Bulls announced Derrick Rose would need yet another knee surgery, Powerade has released an uplifting commercial featuring the embattled superstar.

The commercial, uploaded to YouTube on Thursday, stars a young child who lives in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood (where Rose grew up), riding his bike in the early morning along to the final verse of Tupac Shakur’s “The Rose That Grew From Concrete." At the end, Rose emerges inside the United Center, alone.

Is the kid Derrick Rose? Or is he some kid who wants to be the next Derrick Rose? Who's to say? But it's a pretty good ad nonetheless.
