Texas Mom Admits Pointing Gun At Girl's Head During Fight Between Students

Mom Points Gun At Girl's Head During Fight Between Students

A Texas mom is behind bars after she apparently pulled a gun during a fistfight between high school students.

Raw video of the scuffle obtained by KPRC shows two female students from Pasadena High School duking it out in a park across from the school. Viridiana Alvarez, whose daughter was in the fight, appears to pull a handgun out and point it at a 14-year-old girl's head.

In an interview with KHOU, the victim said the fight was over a boy, and that she "didn't know [Alvarez] had a gun until after I saw a picture of the fight afterward."

Her parents were terrified when they saw photos and videos of the altercation on social media.

"Literally, my stomach dropped," Ted Meyers, the victim's father, told KHOU. "I got nauseous and shaky."

Witnesses notified school administration, who called the Pasadena Police Department. Cops arrested Alvarez on aggravated assault charges Tuesday.

In a court appearance Wednesday, she told a judge that she was just trying to "scare" the girl who was fighting her daughter. Her family told KPRC that the pistol wasn't loaded.

"I don't think a grown woman should be taking a gun where kids are," the victim's grandmother told the station. "I think it's wrong."
