Jared Leto Recreates The Joker's 'Killing Joke' Photo

'Suicide Squad' Director Shares Photo Of Jared Leto As The Joker

When director David Ayer shared a photo of the "Suicide Squad" cast at a table read, fans freaked out. Where was Jared Leto, who was set to play The Joker? Although Leto was missing from the cast snap, Ayer later posted a photo of the actor as The Joker, recreating the Batman/ Joker story "The Killing Joke."

DC Comics fans have long speculated about what Leto would look like as The Joker. Last month, he debuted his new short, platinum do, and this week, he posted another glimpse at his transformation. The Oscar winner is also rumored to be bulking up for the role. Ayer's photo hints at how Leto's final Joker look may take shape.

"Suicide Squad," scheduled to hit theaters on Aug. 5, 2016, also features Will Smith (Deadshot), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc), Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flagg) and Viola Davis (Amanda Waller). Ayer's cast photo also included newcomers Ike Barinholtz, Jim Parrack and Adam Beach, whose roles have not been officially announced yet.
