I was flying from Portland, Oregon to Salt Lake City, Utah with my 7 month old son. He is a very good baby, but babies require so much extra gear. I arrived at the gate with my stroller, car seat, and carry on bags in tow. I looked around for a place to sit so I could feed my son.
The gate was pretty crowded with the only empty seats being single seats in the middle of a row. A younger gentleman caught my eye and gestured that he would give me his seat. I was so relieved and grateful as he was on the end of a row and I could park there without disturbing others.
After finishing baby's breakfast, we packed up and got ready to board the plane. I had baby in his infant car seat, diaper bag, backpack and my stroller was folded up in duffel carry case. I was making it slowly along the way but it was a challenge.
As I stood waiting for my turn to board, the same kind gentleman came up and asked to carry my stroller bag to the end of the breezeway for me where it would be gate checked. I was nearly in tears as I thanked him for his kindness. Then, the young man in front of me in line, after hearing what the other man had done, offered to carry my baby in his car seat on to the plane for me.
It was only through their kindness I was able to easily get on the plane and situated for the flight. It meant so much to me. Not that I could not have done it all by myself, but they eased my burden. And for that I will always be grateful.
