23 are injured, two reported dead, and five in critical condition following a hit and run on Red River Street near The Mohawk bar in Austin, Texas, during the South By Southwest film and music festival. This incident happened around the Tyler, the Creator show that was scheduled around 12:30 a.m. Austin time. The show was subsequently cancelled.

A suspect is currently in custody and the two fatalities are being reported to have been on a moped.

Reports indicate that Tyler, the Creator / Odd Future were set to take the stage when a drunk driver plowed over designated barricades into a crowd of people waiting to see the show.

Austin Police Lt. Brian Moon provided the following statement:

"The driver continued to drive after crashing through the barricades and hit numerous pedestrians before the vehicle stopped," Moon told ABC News Radio.

The Austin Police Department has confirmed a media briefing at 2 am with all public safety at 9th and Red River regarding the fatalities. This is being treated as a vehicular homicide.
