Adam Bailey

A first generation college graduate, Adam lives the tension between the liberal arts and careerism, avoiding both his academic preference for joining an intellectual commune and his genetic predisposition to work 80 hour weeks. Born and raised on the mountains above the West Virginia coal fields, he also balances his deep roots in Appalachian history and nature with his cosmopolitan experiences and progressive values. When Adam isn't reading or writing, he's in motion--either running, driving country roads, or plotting his next global expedition. His bucket-list has mostly been to hike on every continent and swim in every ocean--halfway there at just 23, he's now just looking for bigger sights: helping, not just seeing, the world.
