Adam Hollier

Candidate, City Council District 5

Adam Hollier was born in Detroit, Michigan. He is the son of Carl Hollier (retired Captain Detroit Fire Dept. and Training officer Wayne County Health Dept.) and Jackie Hollier (retired Social worker) of Detroit Michigan. He was raised in the Northend, where his family has lived since the 1940’s. Adam attended all Detroit public schools. He received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University in Industrial and Labor relations. He then earned a Master of Urban Planning from The University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. Adam, at first opportunity, served in a public capacity as the district director for State Senator Buzz Thomas. He also served as Chief of Staff for State Senator Bert Johnson. Beyond Michigan, he served as volunteer coordinator for the East Biloxi Relief and Recovery Center in Biloxi, MS after Hurricane Katrina. Adam was among the first groups to respond after the hurricane devastated countless communities in the area. During his tenure in public service with Senators Thomas and Johnson, Adam was instrumental in gaining “wins” for his community. Adam also serves on the Northend Central Woodward Governance Board, Michigan Youth in Government Alumni Board and Vanguard Community Development Corporation board of Directors. Adam has been very involved with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and coaches American Youth football with the Detroit Dolphins.
