Dr. Alexandro Arenas

Husband, Doctor, friend, story teller.

Alexandro Arenas is a Doctor who graduated medical school in Tijuana Mexico in the year 2006. After finishing medical school, he continued his education with a one year internship, receiving hands on training in a hospital. He went on to do volunteer work, where he served as a medical director for one year in a clinic of a rural and low income community in Real del Castillo, Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. Alexandro states that this was a very humbling and gratifying experience, where he learned the true meaning of empathy, and reassured his love for this beautiful calling. He continued his professional career for the next 4 years in San Diego California; entering the medical research field, and becoming a key element lending his core expertise working in phase I and phase II clinical trials, specializing in the areas of diabetes and obesity. One of his favorite things while doing this work was the interaction he had with the study patients, saying that it was very pleasant to get to know them, and help them during the difficult clinical procedures they endured.

Alexandro mentions that growing up in the border between Tijuana and San Diego helped him to understand the best of both worlds. He is bicultural and bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish; all which he considers being a blessing, and a positive factor in his life. He enjoys reading a good book and going to the movies. You can find him in the woods going for hikes, running in the beach or the inner city, swimming, and going for long walks with his wife and their dog.

At the present time Alexandro is very interested in the practice of meditation, self realization and personal growth; all of which has led him to find a niche he truly feels passionate about. He comments that the practice of meditation has helped him in a positive way in every aspect of his life, becoming more aware and enlighten; reason why he highly recommends this practice to everyone, expressing that if more people practiced meditation, the benefit would be astonishing and the world would become a place where there would be more harmony, love and respect. Alexandro’s main focus today is finding a way to combine the knowledge of western medicine with eastern teachings. He is a true believer that the future of modern medicine should be a multidisciplinary and integrative system, where the focus should not be the disease, but the person itself as a whole; paying attention to the mind, body and soul, in that way providing a better quality of life for the individual.

Alexandro lives in Los Angeles California with his wife, who is also a doctor.
