Alicia Salzer, M.D.

Psychiatrist and author of the resilience book 'Back to Life' (aliciasalzer.com)

After completing her B.A. at the University of Pennsylvania and obtaining her M.D. from Cornell University, Dr. Alicia Salzer held posts at UCLA, Columbia University and the Mount Sinai School of Medicine before becoming the Director of Aftercare for the Montel Williams show in 2003. She appeared on more than 100 episodes of the show and helped victims overcome trauma by implementing revolutionary Positive Psychology exercises and techniques.

Since 2003 Dr. Salzer has been a member of the Speaker’s Bureau of the Rape Abuse Incest National Network and volunteers her services to Disaster Psychiatry Outreach, an organization that provides mental health staffing and treatment in the aftermath of disasters. Her experience with these trauma victims has led her to work with a New York clinic that was created to care exclusively for Ground Zero personnel present on 9/11. She also served as a member of the American Psychiatric Association’s Consulting Committee’s “The South Africa Project.” A forensic expert witness on post-traumatic stress disorder, she has appeared on "Fox & Friends", The Dr. Drew show, Better TV and talk radio and speaks to audiences nationwide.
