Photographer

Allan Gerson was born in the fabled city of Samarkand in Uzbekistan. The curator of the Kodak Hall of Fame Museum in Oklahoma City proclaimed on acquiring one of his works, that this must account for his fascination with mosques. He has photographed extensively the King Hassan II Mosque in Morocco and his works are in the Royal Palace Collection. Gerson's fascination with the desert led him to photograph in the Sahara and in Death Valley. His affinity for the grit of urban scenes has led to photographs of the Berlin Wall, New York and Paris. This is his foray into Los Angeles and its glory focused on its textures and juxtapositions. He lives in Washington, DC where he maintains an international law practice. His three children - Daniela, Merissa and David - reside in Los Angeles.
