Allen D. Hertzke is the Presidential Professor of Political Science at the University of Oklahoma. From 2008 to 2009, he was a visiting senior research fellow at the Pew Research Center’s Forum on Religion & Public Life, where he served as the primary researcher for the Pew Forum’s November 2011 report "Lobbying for the Faithful: Religious Advocacy Groups in Washington, D.C."

Hertzke’s books on religion and politics include "Representing God in Washington," a comprehensive analysis of D.C.-based religious lobbies, and "Freeing God’s Children: The Unlikely Alliance for Global Human Rights."

Hertzke has served as a visiting scholar at the Brookings Institution and has been a lead consultant on advancing global religious freedom for both The Pew Charitable Trusts and the John Templeton Foundation.
