Acupuncturist With a Neuroscience Education

Amy studied neuroscience as an undergraduate at Columbia University and as a Ph.D. candidate at CUNY. A few years in the lab was enough time to know that benchwork was not the right direction, but science & medicine were definitely still calling. She shifted gears to the clinical side and completed her master’s degree in Chinese Medicine.

Her private acupuncture practice in NYC focuses on internal medicine and mental health. www.yin-yangbalance.com

She is also a voice of integrative medicine. Amy was credentialed as an acupuncturist at Beth Israel Medical Center in NYC, has been invited to speak on integrative medicine at the American Psychiatric Association (APA), and is designing a clinical pilot study for acupuncture in a Western, integrative setting.

Amy is also a medical & science writer for physician directed disease state education for many large pharmaceutical corporations.

She maintains an active volunteer schedule.
