Andrew David Thaler is a freelance marine biologist based in North Carolina. He has a Ph.D. in Marine Science and Conservation from the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University. He specializes in deep-sea ecology, population genetics, and conservation genetics, as well as marine policy and science outreach.
