Co-founder, the Unexpected Project
In 1996, following a near-death experience during pregnancy, Anne became an advocate for maternal health. In 1999, she founded the Preeclampsia Foundation. Preeclampsia is a leading cause of maternal death globally. She has co-founded four nonprofits, including serving as the founding Executive Director of the Microsoft Alumni Foundation.
Along with co-writer, and fellow near-miss survivor Jennifer Binkley Carney, Anne is filming a documentary, UNEXPECTED, about the state of maternal health in the US. UNEXPECTED is funded, in part, by Lucina Maternity and is part of their joint Save a Mother's Life campaign.
Join Anne and other survivors of pregnancy-related near-death and the loved ones of women not so lucky at the first Survivors Forum April 30, 2014 in San Jose, CA.
