A South Florida native, Tony is Principal of The Street Plans Collaborative, an urban design firm specializing in urban design, smart growth and active transport planning. He is an advocate dedicated to smart growth oriented land use policies, and mutlimodal transportation in South Florida. In his work he strives to create high-quality public spaces, and believes that the key to reversing the harmful effects of suburban sprawl on our cities is to promote compact, walkable, mixed-use neighborhoods.

Tony graduated from New York University with a B.A. in Urban Planning and Architecture Studies, with a concentration in community development and participation in the planning process, and the use of technology in garnering public support. He went on to get his Masters in Architecture from the University Of Miami School Of Architecture and is currently an adjunct faculty member at the University of Miami School of Architecture.

While at the University of Miami he was one of a handful of students invited to the Rome Program, an intensive six month program of study into the history of traditional urbanism and architecture. Most recently he was one of a select few regional participants in the LEED-Homes pilot program, where his work on a historic South Miami cottage led to a Gold rating and a Dade Heritage Trust Award for excellence in preservation.

Tony enjoys hiking and observing the native ecosystems of South Florida, pushing his friends and family to restore habitats and go native. He is on the Board of Directors of the Green Mobility Network, and Vice-President of the Urban Environment League. He is a member of the Dade Heritage Trust, and the Congress for the New Urbanism. It is his hope that through his work he is able to positively influence how Miami grows.
