Brittany Bergquist

Brittany Bergquist is from Massachusetts. She is the 21-year-old founder of Cell Phones for Soldiers.

Attending deployment ceremonies and seeing military men and women as they are about to board a bus leading them to war zones inspired Brittany to act. She believes that as Americans, we have so much to be thankful for as we go through each day -- we need to remember why we are safe here in the USA and able to enjoy our freedoms.

Brittany wants to be sure that each member of our armed forces knows how much everyone appreciates their sacrifices. They are her heroes.

Her first action started as a small way to assist one soldier with his cell phone bill, and developed into a 501c3 non-profit organization designed to assist service members from every branch of the military.

To date, Cell Phones for Soldiers has been able to provide over 150 million minutes of talk time for our troops. Free phone cards are sent to troops recuperating in hospitals and serving our country at military bases around the world.

CPFS wouldn’t be able to continue to support our troops without the support of people from around our country who send their cell phones to CPFS for recycling. Recycling is their main source of fundraising and Brittany is proud that CPFS is not only helping our troops, but also keeping toxic chemicals out of landfills. It’s a win-win!
