Brook Meakins

Brook Meakins is a 30-year-old attorney, activist, and author of the blog, DrowningIslands.com. In her work, she sounds the alarm about the plight of island nations and low-lying communities across the globe in the wake of climate change. As a multi-faceted advocate, she has conducted fact-finding and personal-story gathering missions in countries all over the world, including the Maldives, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the San Blas Archipelago in Panama. She has partnered with communities to fight global warming and build awareness around the threat to their existence.
