Carlos Padilla

Queer Undocumented Immigrant Project Coordinator, a Program of United We Dream

Carlos Padilla, was born in Jalisco, Mexico and moved to the U.S at the age of 2. Having to grow up in double closets was not an easy thing to overcome, but his activism, dedication and community is what inspired him to continue fighting because he knew that things simply did not get better for people like him, but instead, we would have to make them better. At the age of 15 he came out as Undocumented, and three years later, he came out as Queer to his community. Since then, he went on to study Political Science at the University of Washington, and was one of the co-founders of the Washington Dream Act Coalition.
