Caroline Kende-Robb is the Chief Adviser of the International Commission on Financing Global Education Opportunity, chaired by Rt Hon Gordon Brown. The Commission was established to reinvigorate the case for investing in education building on the vision agreed to by world leaders in 2015 with the UN Sustainable Development Goal for education. From 2011 – 2017, Caroline was the Executive Director of the Africa Progress Panel, a foundation chaired by Kofi Annan. Other panel members include President Olusegun Obasanjo, Graça Machel, Sir Bob Geldof, Michel Camdessus, Linah Mahohlo, Robert Rubin, Tidjane Thiam and Strive Masiyiwa. The Foundation is a unique policy and research organization with top-level political and private sector access. Prior to joining the Africa Progress Panel, Caroline worked at the World Bank and International Monetary Fund for 16 years as a senior manager. Caroline began her career in 1983 where she spent five years as a manager in the private sector. She then lived in The Gambia for over 5 years, working for The Gambian Government as a Business and Community Development Adviser, for a small CSO, Africa Now, as the West Africa Field Director for Africa Now, and then for the UNDP. Caroline is a Non-Executive Director for Mara Social Media and Mara Sonkoni. She is currently a member of the World Economic Forum's Global Future Council on Economic Growth and Social Inclusion and is a Panel Member of the Wildlife Justice Commission. Caroline holds a BA (Hons) in Geography from Liverpool University and MSc in Social Policy from the London School of Economics.
