Founder and President, Juan Felipe Gomez Escobar Foundation
Catalina Escobar is founder and president of the Juan Felipe Gomez Escobar Foundation, which she created in 2001 following a successful banking and business career. Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos awarded her the National Merit Order Award in 2011. In 2012, she was part of the Fortune/US State Department Global Women’s Partnership and one of ten CNN Heroes. In 2013, Women’s eNews named her one of 21 (American) Leaders for the 21st Century and Revista Semana named her one of ten Best Colombian Leaders. Escobar received Poder magazine’s Business Award and is an Ashoka Fellow.
