Charles holds a Bachelors Degree Georgia State University with a dual major in Organizational Training & Development and Public Relations and plans on attending UCLA or USC in 2009 to obtain a Doctorate Degree in Education and Creative writing.

In 2004, Atlanta, Georgia, Charles was a Trumpet Award novelist, honoree, award recipient, and panelist alongside Sidney Poitier, Johnny Cochran, Cicely Tyson, Dr. Rosie Milligan and other esteemed authors. Since 2001, Charles has distributed 15,000 of his novels nationwide.

Charles has also written The Magic Coin children’s fantasy trilogy. Los Angeles based Milligan Books recently published the first book of The Magic Coin series.

The Magic Coin stage play was performed at Savannah State University and the novel has been successfully used as a performance enhancement tool to increase writing and reading scores in Savannah, Georgia elementary schools. Nationwide, since 2001, Charles has coached over twenty thousand youths in writing, reading, and principals of self-esteem.

In 2008, The Magic Coin educational fantasy books will be showcased nationwide as books promoting character building. The series introduces new concepts for teaching language arts disciplines while introducing dozens of fantasy character and surreal plots designed as reading pleasure for children and adults of all ages. The Magic Coin 2 is scheduled for release in August 2008.

Currently, Charles coaches over two hundred South Central youths weekly at A Place Called Home “APCH”. He also conducts private tutoring sessions for youths in reading and writing while hosting free literacy workshops in schools, libraries, and book events across Los Angeles, California.

Charles has also written 9 full length motion picture spec scripts, numerous short stories, stage plays and a musical, Colored & Risin’. Charles directs filmmaking classes to youths which to date have produced five short movies, including the following award winning short film: S.O.S, which in 07 placed fourth out of sixty films in the Los Angeles based city-wide Bresee Film Competition on High School Dropouts.
