Chase Guttman

teenager, political junkie, photographer, explorer

Chase Guttman is a passionate political junkie, intrepid explorer and talented photographer. Chase won several debates at Harvard and Princeton Universities as part of the debate team for Bronx High School of Science. He created an innovative presidential trivia quiz for Biography.com, interned for the Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, and has read close to a hundred books on the presidency. A collector of political buttons, he has sought out sites of presidential significance and met with three United States presidents including a breakfast as a guest of Jimmy Carter.

His extensive travels have included a Saharan desert crossing by camel, rescuing baby puffins in Iceland, jaguar-tracking in Central America and dogsledding in the Rockies. As a result of his experiences, he won Young Travel Photographer of the Year 2010, the first American to do so in his age category, and is a contributor to Light Stalking, Family Travel and Photo Tip World. He also recently won First Prize in National Geographic's 2011 Photography Contest for Kids. Check out his work at chaseguttman.com.
