Christopher H. Evans is Professor of the History of Christianity at Boston University School of Theology and an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church. He is the author of several books including Histories of American Christianity: an Introduction, Liberalism without Illusions: Renewing an American Christian Tradition, and The Kingdom is Always but Coming: A Life of Walter Rauschenbusch. His latest book, The Social Gospel in American Religion will be published by New York University Press in the spring of 2017.
