Christopher M. Schroeder is a leading U.S. entrepreneur and investor in interactive technologies and social media. He co-founded HealthCentral.com, backed by top Silicon Valley investors and sold in 2012, which was one of the largest content and social platforms in health and wellness. He was previously CEO and Publisher of washingtonpost.newsweek interactive and LegiSlate.com. His investments include vox media, iBotta, Skift, Bright Sky Media, Quibb among others.



Schroeder is also a thought leader in exploring global economic trends and entrepreneurship, with a special focus on the emerging world and the Middle East. He authored the best seller Startup Rising: The Entrepreneurial Revolution Remaking the Middle East released last fall. He has written regularly for many of the top news and tech organizations, and has been featured on Charlie Rose and Fareed Zakaria's CNN GPS. He was named one of LinkedIn's first top 50 Influencers.



Schroeder is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves on several boards including The American Council on Germany, the American University of Cairo School of Business and the American University School of International Service. He is on the Investment Committee of the new Wamda Fund, focused on startups in the Middle East.
