Formerly: taught at Cardiff University School of Journalism; then designed, developed and implemented the social media training programme for BBC News; freelance consultant with newsrooms, NGOs, governments around the world, including 12 months at Storyful, the world's first social media news agency; Research Fellow, Tow Center for Digital Journalism, Columbia University, working on a major research project on user-generated content and television news.
